Implement a Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Specialist Prosecutor and additional witness assistance supports to reduce the stress and trauma for victim-survivors of DFV arising through criminal proceedings and improving the capacity of the DPP to take a specialist approach to DFV prosecutions.
Implementation progress update
The Specialist DFV Prosecutor has been appointed and in addition to prosecuting serious DFV related offending, has also delivered training to General Duties police members on policing and prosecuting domestic violence, and to the Child Abuse Taskforce on interviewing children and vulnerable witnesses.
Recruitment for Witness Assistance Service Officers is ongoing.
