Activity details
Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Safe spaces created and maintained in police establishments across the state for victim-survivors to report domestic, family and sexual violence.
Implementation progress update
Police establishments across all regions have proactively designed and installed DFV Safe spaces to support victims to feel comfortable and safe when reporting domestic family violence and sexual violence. Some police establishments have co-designed these safe spaces with First Nations peoples for cultural safety. For example, First Nations Division have co-designed and developed a culturally safe space for victims in Cairns and this facility is being handed over to Far Northern Region to support all victims, including First Nations victims.
