Developing a child-centred risk and need assessment tool for children and young people who have experienced family and domestic violence.
This is activity is part of a broader activity to support the long-term recovery and wellbeing of children and young people who have experienced family and domestic violence. It forms part of an initiative announced by the WA Government in December 2024 to provide $8.23 million over four years (to 2027-28) to design and pilot a suite of services for children and young people impacted by family and domestic violence.

Child-Centred Risk Assessment Tools and Practice Guidance
The Department of Communities have procured Starick Services to develop a fit-for-purpose risk and needs assessment tool for children and young people who have experienced family and domestic violence, along with accompanying guidance for professionals. The risk assessment tools and practice guidance for children and young people will be developed alongside existing service providers and subject matter experts such as Curtin University, and be accessible for use by other frontline services. It is anticipated that this project will be delivered by the end of March 2026.
