Activity details
Deliver domestic and family violence (DFV) perpetrator interventions in custodial settings that support rehabilitation and re-entry to the community and explore expansion of interventions.
Implementation progress update
In 2019, the Disrupting Family Violence Program (DFVP) was trialled in three correctional centres. The DFVP was the first DFV perpetrator program to be implemented in a Queensland correctional centre. Delivery of the DFVP was expanded to one additional correctional centre in 2023 and a further 2 correctional centres in 2025, taking the total number of locations to 6. The Queensland Government partners with YFS to provide women’s advocacy services to support partners, ex-partners and family members of those engaged in the DFVP to ensure the program is delivered in a safe and effective manner.
Opportunities to expand the range of intervention offerings in Queensland's correctional centres will be examined.
