Continue to deliver the KIND Perpetrator Program, an early intervention program working with perpetrators of adolescent domestic and family violence and adolescent dating violence.
Implementation progress update
Since implementation of KIND within Youth Justice in 2021, which included one Allied Health Professional Level 3 position (AHP3), 236 referrals have been received for young people who use violence in their relationships. 198 young people have engaged with intervention, 89 parents and 5 partners.
Additional funding in 2022 assisted with two extra Allied Health Practitioner Level 2 clinicians to deliver KIND. Additional funding in 2024 will support an Operational Staff Level 2 mentor being onboarded for KIND clients.
Since 2021, training has been conducted with five organisations in Queensland who have implemented KIND in their jurisdictions. Two organisations in Northern Territory have also been trained in KIND.
