Implementation progress update

Aboriginal Family Safety Grants Program
In 2024 one-off grant funding over a two-year period was offered through the Aboriginal Family Safety Grants Program (a time limited initiative) for eligible organisations (being Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation and/or a not-for-profit registered Aboriginal business) to develop Aboriginal and community-led family safety activities in their region. More than $5.5 million was allocated to 12 projects designed and delivered by Aboriginal organisations located across the State including Perth, Peel, Goldfields-Esperance, Great Southern, Wheatbelt, Kimberley, and Pilbara regions. An independent evaluation of the grants program is being conducted by Kaala Barna Aboriginal Consultancy. Grant recipients were announced by the State Government during the annual 16 Days in WA – Stop Violence against Women campaign in December 2024.
