Activity details
Provide young women from refugee backgrounds with information, resources and support to increase their understanding of coercive control.
Implementation progress update
Multicultural Youth South Australia (MYSA) commenced delivery of the Community Circles coercive control program (Community Circles) in June 2023. The program has been extended to 30 June 2027.
Community Circles provides a safe forum for girls and women aged 13 to 35 to come together, learn about coercive control and identify the wider social, cultural and political conditions which give rise to and support coercive control. Additionally, it provides an opportunity for young women to be involved co-designing and co-creating awareness raising strategies to bring coercive control to the attention to their peer groups.
