Activity details
Work towards greater collaboration in developing prevention strategies and seek to align efforts in prevention planning, investment, and initiatives. This could include developing consistent messaging in education campaigns including addressing sexual violence and violence against women in online settings.
Implementation progress update
The department has enhanced collaboration across key stakeholders in the development of primary prevention strategies. Initial efforts have focused on aligning planning, investment and initiatives to reduce duplication and maximise impact.
Progress to date includes:
- Mapping nationally all primary prevention work currently underway across jurisdictions to identify alignment opportunities and gaps.
- National initiatives that educate and engage communities, build respectful relationships, work to shift social norms and strengthen systems to prevent gender-based violence. - Advancing targeted activities supporting LGBTIQA+ communities, people with disability, and culturally diverse, refugee and migrant populations.
