Implementation progress update
The 2024-25 ACT Budget provided $267,000 over 4 years to support the ongoing operations of the Death Review, including funds to maintain the database, necessary licencing arrangements and the statutory review in accordance with legislative requirements.
Throughout 2024-25, the ACT continued to maintain a register of domestic and family violence homicides and suicides which is used to inform the biennial reports to the ACT Minister for the Prevention of Family and Domestic Violence. In 2025–26, $117,000 will be directed toward this work. The continued investment supports the maintenance of the review database, essential licensing arrangements, and the statutory review scheduled for 2026–27. Further information on the ACT Death Review is available at Domestic and Family Violence Review Biennial Report 2023.
