Activity details
Funding 5 Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) to design and deliver culturally safe, appropriate and relevant responses to young people using violence in the home and their families.
This activity is part of a broader activity to address gaps in the service system through tailored supports to adolescents experiencing family violence or using violence.
Implementation progress update
Five ACCOs have been funded and are providing support to young people using violence in the home and their families.
These ACCOs operate in the following Department of Families, Fairness and Housing locations: Barwon, Central Highlands, Western Melbourne, Bayside Peninsula, North East Melbourne, Mallee and Loddon.
Four of the 5 ACCOs were engaged in the statewide Adolescent Family Violence in the Home lapsing program evaluation. An evaluation of these first 4 funded ACCOs was completed in November 2024.
The final ACCO to be funded was allocated funding in November 2023, and therefore was not subject to the evaluation period.
Ongoing funding has been provided through the 2025-26 Victorian State Budget.
