Development and implementation of a 10-Year Workforce Development Strategy for the specialist NSW domestic and family violence (DFV) workforce to improve attraction, recruitment, and retention of a highly skilled and diverse workforce with a focus on improving working conditions across the sector.
This activity is part of a broader activity to conduct a baseline survey to better understand the capacity of the specialist and broader workforce to respond to DFV, and develop a 10-year DFV workforce development strategy for the specialist workforce.
Implementation progress update
A 10-year Workforce Development Strategy for the specialist DFV sector has been developed in consultation with key government and non-government stakeholders. This strategy has identified seven key strategic themes that will build workforce sustainability, capacity and capability. The NSW Government has allocated $2.5 million to begin delivery of Workforce Development Strategy through the 2025-26 State Budget, with some activity already underway.
