Children and Family Support - community needs mapping tool
Using the tool
This tool supports service providers applying for the Children and Family Support (CaFS) grant opportunity. It helps find priority areas for the program. This includes communities with higher vulnerability or disadvantage.
To use the tool, enter a postcode, suburb or region into the search box to find a region. You can also filter by state or territory, priority categories and community activity.
The search result will show you:
- the name of the area by Statistical Area Level 2 (SA2). This includes the state or territory, postcodes and suburbs that overlap this area.
- the priority categories the region meets.
- a link to show the area on a map. This link opens a new browser tab to show the region (SA2) on a map on the Digital Atlas. The selected region should be in the centre of the map.
You can use the map link to consider areas in a location you searched for. You can then look them up in this tool to see how they align to the priority categories.
Eligible providers for CaFS can still name areas in their submission which do not meet the priority categories. Service providers will need to provide evidence of the need for services in the locations.
