Food relief and practical support
Food relief and material aid helps get low-cost food and everyday use items to emergency relief providers so they can support people in urgent need.
About food relief and material aid
We fund organisations to make sure emergency relief providers can provide food and supplies to people in need across Australia.
The funding allows organisations to:
- redistribute food and/or material aid to community organisations or distribution centres where they are needed
- source and transport essential food and/or material aid where donations are low
- develop partnerships to improve access and distribution, especially in rural and remote communities.
Material aid is the term we use for help with practical items. These may include:
- toiletries and personal hygiene products
- cleaning products
- blankets
- clothing
- essential school supplies
- essential white goods.
