The Australian Government has released its response to the Senate Education and Employment References Committee report: Inquiry into the potential impacts of the Commonwealth Paid Parental Leave scheme on small businesses and their employees.

The Committee made 3 recommendations in its report. The government does not support one of these. It notes the others.

The government will work with businesses and other stakeholders to ensure the Paid Parental Leave scheme:

• delivers on its objectives
• supports the ongoing connection between employers and their employees.

Services Australia is improving communication, process, and systems to help employers administering Paid Parental Leave.
