Australian Government Response to the Second Interim Report of the Joint Select Committee on Implementation of the National Redress Scheme

The Australian Government has released its response to the Second Interim Report of the Joint Select Committee on Implementation of the National Redress Scheme. The Response takes into account the recommendations of the Second Year Review of the National Redress Scheme (the Review), and the Australian Government’s Response to the Review, which was released on 4 May 2023.

The Australian Government supports many of the recommendations made in the Joint Select Committee’s Second Interim Report, and notes the significant intersections with those made by the Review.

The Australian Government would like to thank all those who participated in the Joint Select Committee’s inquiry, whose contributions were no doubt invaluable and will be used to assist the Government in delivering a survivor-focused and trauma-informed Scheme for survivors of institutional child sexual abuse.
