Your feedback matters – Help inform the Safe Places Emergency Accommodation Inclusion Round

A discussion paper for the Safe Places Emergency Accommodation Program Inclusion Round is now open for public consultation.

We are seeking input to help inform the design of the Inclusion Round. The Inclusion Round will provide capital works grants to build, purchase or renovate dwellings to deliver new emergency accommodation for women and children leaving family and domestic violence.

Family and domestic violence (FDV) is one of the leading causes of homelessness for women and children. We are increasing the number of new and appropriate emergency accommodation options for women and children leaving FDV, ensuring those who need it have access to safe, secure and appropriate accommodation.

On 3 November 2022, the Australia Government announced $100 million over 5 years (2022-23 to 2026-27) for the Inclusion Round as part of the recently released National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children 2022-32.

The Inclusion Round will focus on increasing the number of new and appropriate crisis or emergency accommodation places for:

• First Nations women and children
• Women and children from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, and
• Women and children with disability.

Your feedback is important to us, and will inform the design of the Inclusion Round. Submissions close 10 March 2023.
