Children's week runs from 18 October to 26 October. It is an opportunity to celebrate the rights of children and recognise the importance of raising them healthy and happy.
The safety and wellbeing of children remains a national priority for governments and is supported by initiatives we fund. Our programs help improve the wellbeing of children, young people and their families. We provide support, early intervention and prevention services.
This includes the:
- Children and Parenting Support (CaPS) program which helps children prepare for learning and life by improving development and wellbeing.
- Communities for Children Facilitating Partners program which supports children and families in 52 disadvantaged communities. The program takes a whole-of community approach to improve the lives of children and families.
- Safe and Supported initiative which is a national framework for protecting Australia’s children. The vision is that children in Australia reach their full potential by growing up safe and supported, free from harm and neglect.
As a community, we have a responsibility to provide environments where children can feel seen, heard, nurtured and safe.
