Strengthen and expand the Family Safety Framework (FSF), a multi-agency risk management response, to serious domestic and family violence (DFV) risk.
Implementation progress update
Work is underway to strengthen the FSF across the 6 existing locations in the Northern Territory. This includes recruitment of new and upgraded FSF Positions. Recruitment of a Senior FSF Coordinator, Intelligence Support Officer in Nhulunbuy and Intelligence Support Officer for Tennant Creek is complete. Upgrading of Darwin and Katherine Intelligence Support Officers is also complete.
Establishment of a new FSF site in Wadeye is underway. A local FSF working group involving key stakeholders has been established. Recruitment of an Intelligence Support Officer is underway. DFV Risk Assessment and Management Framework training was delivered in Wadeye in March 2024, and will support the use of the shared framework and the Common Risk Assessment Tool for referrals.
Work is continuing to develop a FSF online portal. A business analyst commenced in May 2025 to assess options and recommendations for portal system options.
