The First Nations Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence Sector Strengthening Plan (FDSV SSP) will support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce capacity and capability across systems and sectors, recognising intersections with existing systems and reforms (e.g. family violence and child wellbeing, safety reforms and primary prevention).
Implementation progress update
The Department of Social Services is working with First Nations Advocates Against Family Violence and jurisdictions to strengthen the family, domestic and sexual violence sector. A working group across all levels of government will develop the Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence Sector Strengthening Plan. The working group will begin in August 2025. First Nations Advocates Against Family Violence have completed a needs and maturity assessment to support this work.
