Activity details
Delivery of a Respectful Relationships Teaching Support Program which focuses on promoting respectful relationships and gender equality in Western Australian schools. This includes the development of dedicated teacher and student resources to complement teaching and learning about respectful relationships. These resources are being developed in close collaboration with Catholic Education Western Australia and Australian Independent Schools of Western Australia. The teacher resources are to respond to diverse and vulnerable cohorts, including but not limited to Aboriginal children and young people, children and young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, children and young people with disability, children and young people in Catholic education and Independent schools, and children and young people who identify as LGBTIQA+.
Implementation progress update
The Western Australian Government committed an additional $1.5 million over 2 years from January 2025 to December 2026 to support development of bespoke resources targeting Aboriginal students and enable expansion of the program to Catholic and Independent Schools.
