Round 2 of eSafety's Preventing Tech-based Abuse of Women Grants Program includes a dedicated First Nations funding stream of $600,000, from the total $3.5 million.
Implementation progress update
The Australian Government has funded 2 First Nations-led projects to prevent tech-based abuse of women. These are the Big Rivers Men Preventing Tech-based Abuse project, run by the Katherine West Health Board Aboriginal Corporation, and the Our Story. Our Safety project run by the Queensland Remote Aboriginal Media Corporation. These projects will run from July 2025 to June 2027.
These projects were funded under Round 2 of the Preventing Tech-based Abuse of Women Grants Program which was a competitive grants opportunity. Of the total funding available under Round 2, up to $600,000 was set aside to support priority funding of projects that directly targeted tech-based abuse in First Nations communities.
