Activity details
Several initiatives under the Strengthening Responses to Family and Domestic Violence System Reform Plan are working towards better ways of responding to perpetrators. The Western Australian government is updating their practice standards for responding to perpetrators. A data linkage project to track perpetrator pathways using PeopleWA data is underway. These projects are complemented by increased investment in community-based programs for men using violence including a new residential Breathing Space service in Hedland (Pilbara) and 3 new regional men’s behaviour change programs in Bunbury, Albany and Northam. The community-based behaviour change programs are delivered by a highly experienced perpetrator service provider partnered with a local Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation.
