The MYH Health and Recovery Trauma Safety Services Division, Women's & Children's Health Network run Aboriginal specific therapeutic group programs for young parents that focuses on domestic and family violence (DFV) early intervention, breaking intergenerational cycles and promoting early intervention in youth parenting in metro Adelaide. These programs have also have a focus on DFV screening, improved child wellbeing and development focus, increased connection to culture, and increased parenting skills networks.
Implementation progress update
The therapuetric group has been formulated and is facilitated and reviewed every school term by Aboriginal lead staff. This program won the 2021 SA Premiers Excellence Award for "Excellence in service delivery" and has gained repeated successful grant funding allocations from the Australian Government.
