Activity details
The MYH Health and Recovery Trauma Safety Services Division, Women's & Children's Health Network run a culturally safe primary prevention, early intervention and trauma specialist health outreach program for Aboriginal young people in Metro Adelaide schools. The program is facilitated and staffed by specialist Aboriginal Health Practitioners with its scope including a focus on domestic and family violence (DFV) screening and the intergenerational health impacts of DFV.
Implementation progress update
Outreach services are provided to enable a trauma informed service that is specialised specifically to address DFV through providing a wrap around response. Advocacy and interagency partnership are a key component of this outreach work. Outreach sessions are formulated, facilitated and reviewed every school term by Aboriginal lead staff.
