Activity details
The Joint Child Protection Response Program (JCPRP) is a tri-agency program consisting of NSW Police, NSW Health and Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) that provides a co-ordinated response to children and young people who have suffered serious physical abuse, sexual abuse and neglect.
Implementation progress update
JCPRP undertake year-long community engagement with local Aboriginal communities across the state. Local communities can request that JCPRP come along and deliver a 2-day workshop. The workshops are attended by community, local services and support networks. Workshops aim to break down barriers to reporting, unpack common myths surrounding child sexual abuse, and enhance community understanding of the JCPRP. The relationships developed at the workshops help JCPRP better support children and young people and their families. They are an opportunity for local community to engage with culturally safe supports and services.
