Implementation progress update
The ACT Government made an election commitment in 2024 to continue to work with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community on implementing recommendations from The Long Yarn report.
The 2025-26 ACT Budget provides $6.022 million for community-led solutions towards this.
Some progress has been made against all 12 of the report's recommendations but the ACT Government recognises there is significantly more work to do, in partnership with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, to fully implement the recommendations. The ACT Government is preparing a formal response to The Long Yarn which will be released in 2025. For more information see The Long Yarn.
