Implementation progress update
The ACT funds Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) to provide a range of services to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people impacted by family, domestic and sexual violence.
In 2024-25, the ACT Government extended grants for ACCOs providing family, domestic and sexual violence services until 30 June 2026. Further funding has been provided in the 2025-26 ACT Budget to extend investment through to 2028-29. The 2025-26 ACT Budget provided $6.022 million for community-led solutions to implement the recommendations of The Long Yarn.
These ACCO services encompass individual and systemic advocacy; holistic, wraparound support for women and children impacted by family, domestic and sexual violence; working with people who use violence and programs to support prevention and healing.
