Activity details
The Office for Women will engage with South Australian Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations Network (SAACCON) to develop an accompanying action plan focused on responding to violence against Aboriginal women and children in South Australia. The development of this dedicated action plan will be a commitment within the new strategy frameworks in South Australia.
Implementation progress update
The South Australian Office for Women are currently establishing the Women and Family Safety Partnership Committee in partnership with SAACCON. The first meeting will be held in July 2025. The Committee is required to support the development of an action plan focused on responding to family, domestic and sexual violence (FDSV) against Aboriginal women and children in South Australia. The action plan will align closely with national FDSV frameworks and initiatives, as well as the findings and recommendations of the South Australian Royal Commission into Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence.
