Explore opportunities to establish and/or support services in prisons, places of detention and post release from prison for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who are both victims and perpetrators of family, domestic and sexual violence, including children.
Implementation progress update
In 2024, Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) launched the Reframing the Relationship Plan 2024-2033 which provides a commitment to action in response to the substantial over-representation of First Nations peoples in the correctional system and a framework for closing the gap on incarceration and victimisation from violence.
QCS continues to deliver programs and services to address domestic and family violence and sexual violence for First Nations peoples.
