Embedding self-determination in prevention efforts

In 2023-24, funding to Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) represented approximately 12% of total family violence service funding provided across Victoria. The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing is committed to ensuring that funding and service agreements support self-determination including through alignment to the Dhelk Dja 10-Year Agreement’s vision and strategic priorities. Family Safety Victoria currently has a policy that at least 10% of all new family violence funding is provided to ACCOs. This was recently formalised in Victoria's Third Rolling Action Plan: Until every Victorian is safe.
