Activity details
DV Notify is a NSW based digital service that aims to improve domestic and family violence victim-survivor safety by directly notifying them when the perpetrator is released from police or corrections custody and connecting victim-survivors in with support services.
Implementation progress update
DV Notify has been co-developed and tested with vicitm-survivors, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victim-survivors, to ensure it is a victim-survivor centred, trauma-informed and culturally safe digital service. DV Notify will initally be piloted in 3 locations (one metro, one regional and one rural/remote) for one year. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victim-survivors within the pilot locations that receive notifications will be connected with culturally safe domestic and family violence (DFV) support services including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander specific services such as 13YARN. The project team has socialised DV Notify with local DFV support services in each pilot location including services that provide support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victim-survivors.
