Activity details
The Culturally Appropriate Family and Domestic Violence Support Services Program provides culturally and linguistically appropriate support services, community awareness and cultural competence training. The program is delivered by Langford Aboriginal Corporation and Ishar Multicultural Women's Health Centre Inc. It provides cultural competence training to family violence service providers and builds the capacity within the Aboriginal community and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations to enable them to respond to clients experiencing family and domestic violence. It also aims to improve the safety and wellbeing of Aboriginal women experiencing family violence and ensure that Aboriginal women and children benefit from support services available to them.
Implementation progress update
The program continues to deliver community outcomes through the provision of training to assist community and service providers to respond to family and domestic violence in a culturally responsive way. The program also delivers support services to women, children and young people who have been exposed to family and domestic violence.
