Activity details
Two counselling services dedicated to young people impacted by family and domestic violence have been established in Northam and Rockingham. These services are funded over 3 years to offer programs and activities to support healing and social connection. The services are person-centred, age appropriate and culturally safe for Aboriginal participants, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and LGBTIQA+ participants.
Implementation progress update
Yorgum Healing Services Aboriginal Corporation started delivering the service in Northam in January 2024. Communicare Inc started delivering the service in Rockingham in March 2023. For more information see New counselling service to support Northam young people | Western Australian Government.
