The ACT Government through Canberra Health Services provides Enhanced Child Health Services support to children in out of home care and prioritise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
Implementation progress update
Canberra Health Services' Enhanced Child Health Services provide Out of Home Care (OOHC) clinics to children referred by Child, Youth and Families. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children are prioritised within this clinic. Children who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and who remain in the statutory care system for 12 months, are offered (on referral) an annual Health Needs Assessment with the nurse-led clinic, consistent with the National Clinical Assessment Framework for Children and Young People in OOHC.
