Implementation progress update

The Better Justice Together: Queensland’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Justice Strategy 2024-2031 was developed in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, leaders and organisations to improve the way the criminal justice system works for, and with, First Nations peoples. This initiative was delivered in response to a recommendation of the Women's Safety and Justice Taskforce’s first report, Hear her voice – Report One.

Three action plans will support implementation of the 7-year program. The first Better Justice Together: Foundational action plan 2024–26 focuses on working in partnership to build and secure strong foundations for the strategy. For more information see Better Justice Together: Foundational action plan 2024–26 - First Nations Justice Office - Publications | Queensland Government.
