Activity details
The ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Agreement 2019-2028 (ACT Agreement) is the commitment of the ACT Government and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body to deliver real outcomes that improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Canberra. The ACT Agreement includes Target 4 to reduce the rate of all forms of family violence and abuse against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children by at least 50% by 2031, as progress towards zero, mirroring the National Agreement on Closing the Gap Target 13.
Implementation progress update
Phase 2 Action Plans ended in December 2024. The development of Phase 3 Action Plans was delayed with agreement from the Elected Body due to the Elected Body's elections in July 2024 and the ACT election in October 2024. Work is continuing on the final Phase 3 Implementation Plan which will be completed in the first half of 2025-26.
