Activity details
The NSW Government has approved $2 million for the Aboriginal Workforce Development Project to build the workforce needed to deliver the expanded Core and Cluster Program and the Aboriginal Homelessness Sector Growth Project across NSW. Through training and funding to Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations to deliver Core and Cluster or Aboriginal Homelessness Sector Growth Project services, workers will be skilled to provide culturally-safe services to Aboriginal women and children.
The project will aim to build the capability of the workforce to provide culturally safe services to Aboriginal women and children through:
- delivery of cultural capability training and trauma-informed professional development courses to the sector workforce, including new Core and Cluster staff and new and existing Aboriginal staff
- provision of funding to Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs) engaged to deliver Core and Cluster or Aboriginal Homelessness Sector Growth Project services, to help them meet workforce development needs.
Grants of up to $90,000 per organisation will be available for workforce development in ACCOs participating in the Core and Cluster Program and the Aboriginal Homelessness Sector Growth Project.
