International Social Security Agreement between Australia and Uruguay

Australia and the Oriental Republic of Uruguay signed a new Social Security Agreement on 26 August 2025. 

We are currently implementing the new agreement. It will start once both countries finish the legal and administrative steps. This could take 12 months to complete.

We will provide a further update once these processes are complete.
