If you are enrolled in HCWA or Better Start, this information may help you:

Finding a provider

You can use the Department’s website to search for HCWA providers and Better Start providers in your area.

Raising Children Network Parent Guide to Therapies for Children with ASD

The therapies guide offers reliable information about a wide range of therapies and interventions for children with ASD. Each guide gives an overview of the therapy, including research findings and the approximate time and costs involved.

Good Practice Guide

There are a lot of services available. Some are supported by evidence, while others are still being researched.

The HCWA Guidelines for Good Practice provides families with advice on which interventions work best for children with ASD.

Auslan training for parents

If your child is eligible for Better Start, you may wish to use some of the early intervention resource funding to pay for attendance at an Auslan course. These can be run by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or DSS approved Auslan Training Provider. Payment for these courses must be claimed by a registered Better Start service provider.

If you are interested in attending an Auslan course, please talk to your child’s Early Intervention Service Provider.
