Economic and Community Participation (ECP) focusses on improving pathways to employment and increasing participation by people with disability.

ECP 2021-2022 grant rounds

On 13 April 2021, the Australian Government announced the outcome of two grant rounds under the ECP 2021-22 grant rounds. More than 160 organisations across Australia will share in $36 million to run projects to improve the employment prospects of people with disability and increase participation of people with disability in community activities under the economic participation (EP) and social and community participation (SCP) grant rounds.

Successful projects include on-the-job training for young people with disability in the hospitality industry, providing practical assistance to break into the IT industry, trades and the arts and improving accessibility to community and sporting activities for people with disability.

ECP 2020-2023 grant round

On 21 February 2020, the results of the ECP grant opportunity were announced while the ILC program was under the auspice of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). An investment of $32.7 million (GST inc.) in grants was awarded to 28 organisations across Australia, funding three years of activities.

Successful projects include the facilitation of placements and work experience as well as mentorship and peer developed training modules for people with disability to build workplace capacity.
