Blueprint Expert Reference Group (BERG) Meeting Communiqué Tuesday, 1 August 2023
The Blueprint Expert Reference Group (BERG) met virtually on Tuesday, 1 August 2023 to continue discussions on the development of an Issues Paper that will form the basis for broad consultation on the development of a Not-for-profit (NFP) Sector Development Blueprint.
Professor Jo Barraket, the BERG Expert Advisor, and BERG members agreed the next steps for the development of the Blueprint Issues paper, including the incorporation of the latest research, current sector reports and community insights, being cognisant of the voice of ordinary people. Professor Barraket and BERG members will work closely in August to develop a comprehensive yet concise Issues Paper that will be the basis for broad public consultation.
The timeline for the public consultation phase is currently under review.
BERG is finalising a detailed Stakeholder Engagement Plan which recognises that consultation across the charity and not-for-profit sector, broader community and hearing voices of ordinary people is critical to deliver a Blueprint that is a strategic vision for a better future for this diverse and vital sector. BERG is open to hearing from interested stakeholders while they continue to build a dynamic stakeholder list with which to engage during the consultation phase of the Issues Paper. The next BERG meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, 5 September 2023.
