Social Security Rates Indexation
Social security payment rates are indexed on a regular basis to maintain their value over time. Increases to rates are automatically linked to specific price indices (such as the Consumer Price Index) and wage measures as specified in the Social Security Act 1991, and A New Tax System (Family Assistance) Act 1999.
This page contains social security payment rates from 2020 onwards. Rates prior to 2020 are available on the National Library's Australian Government Web Archive.
