Evaluation of Pre-marriage Education Pilot Project

Author:  Donovan Research

Following the Prime Minister's announcement in June 1999 that a pre-marriage scheme would be piloted, a pre-marriage kit and voucher were developed and trialed in Launceston, Perth and rural South Australia. The aim of the pilot was to provide participants with an understanding of the key factors that contribute to strong relationships, and to teach skills that will assist in resolving relationship problems that may arise.

The Department of Family and Community Services (FaCS), through its Family Relationships Branch, administers the Family Relationships Services Program (FRSP), which provides services to support family relationships through more than ninety community-based organisations across Australia.
