Aged Care Reform: Second Release of Exposure Draft Subordinate Legislation (Closed 5 May 2014)
As part of the ongoing process to implement the aged care reforms, a number of Aged Care Act 1997 related Principles will be revoked and created for commencement on 1 July 2014.
From March 2014, the Department is progressively releasing Exposure Drafts of these legislative instruments for comment.
Following the first release of Exposure Drafts of Aged Care Principles (closed on 14 March 2014), a second release of Aged Care Principles was available for comment up until 5 May 2014. They are the:
- Exposure Draft Allocation Principles 2014
- Exposure Draft Extra Service Principles 2014
- Exposure Draft Quality of Care Principles 2014, and
- Exposure Draft User Rights Principles 2014
To help you understand the changes being made to the Principles, an Overview document has been prepared to accompany the Exposure Drafts in both the first and second releases. The Overview provides a plain-English guide to the proposed amendments that will take effect from 1 July 2014.
Please note that, unless requested otherwise, comments received may be published, in whole or in part.
Further information about the consultation process is available from the attached Fact Sheet "Amendments to Subordinate Legislation".
The consultation closed on 5 May 2014.
