The Community Grants Hub (supported by the Australian Government Department of Social Services) on behalf of the National Disability Insurance Scheme Launch Transition Agency (NDIA) invited organisations to apply for funding through an open competitive process to deliver services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (the Scheme) Partners in the Community Program, including Local Area Coordination (LAC) Services and/or Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) Services. Funding is available to June 2019 to deliver services in the ACT, as well as identified areas of Queensland, Victoria and South Australia that have people scheduled to transition into the National Disability Insurance Scheme in 2017.

This funding round relates to Service Areas that are due to transition to the Scheme before 1 January 2018. The Service Areas included in this funding round and their Phasing Dates are detailed in the Statement of Requirements.

It is expected there will be a number of competing applicants in each Service Area, however there will be no more than one LAC Partner and one ECEI Partner in each Service Area. It will be possible for an applicant to be both the LAC and the ECEI Partner in a Service Area. It will also be possible for an applicant to be successful in more than one Service Area.

Significant updates

  • Extension of the Application period

The Closing Time and Date for the NDIS Partners in the Community Program (Round One) has been extended by two weeks until 2:00pm AEST on Thursday, 22 September 2016.

The NDIA decided to extend the application period following the identification of some underreporting of Participant Volumes and Available Funding for ECEI Services in the State of South Australia.

The NDIA has released updated figures for ECEI Services in the State of South Australia in:

    • Part D of Annex A to the Statement of Requirements; and
    • the Pricing Response Schedule for ECEI Services in the State of South Australia.

Minor changes have been made to the Program Guidelines to: clarify the scope of ECEI Services in South Australia; reemphasise that ECEI Services are sought for the whole of the State of South Australia; and to extend by two weeks the application period and the time for submission of any questions relating to the Program or this application process.

No other changes that affect LAC Services or ECEI Services in any other Service Areas have been made.

Applicants may now submit any questions relating to the Program or this application process in writing to grants@dss.gov.au up until five (5) Business Days prior to the Closing Date and Time, being 5:00pm AEST on Thursday, 15 September 2016.

  • Information regarding the business process applicable for an applicant to de-register as a Registered Provider of Supports at Q 12.1, 12.2 and 12.3 in the Questions and Answers document below.
