Community Grants Hub
The Hub is the result of a whole-of-government initiative to streamline grant processes across agencies. Administered by the Department of Social Services, the Hub started operating on 1 July 2016.
The Hub is a key deliverable of the Streamlining Grants Administration Initiative. Client agencies delivering grants to individuals and the community sector can use the services of the Hub.
Our goal, through the Hub, is to provide an improved grant experience to agencies, applicants and recipients through an enhanced and efficient administration process.
What does the Hub deliver?
With over 20 years’ experience and knowledge of grant management at DSS, the Hub delivers a streamlined process for all community-based grants on behalf of Australian Government departments, agencies and organisations. The Hub offers a streamlined grant service so that:
- service providers can find out about, and apply for, Australian Government funding at a single point
- grant applicants will have a consistent experience – they will know what information they will be expected to provide and how the process operates each time they apply for funding
- agencies can focus on their core business of policy development
- the community can expect best practices in the Australian Government’s administration of grant processes, including by making processes simpler and more cost effective.
Currently the Hub provides grant administration services to the Department of Social Services, National Disability Insurance Agency, Department of Veterans' Affairs, Department of Agriculture and Water Resources, Attorney-General's Department, Department of Education and Training, Department of Health, Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Department of Home Affairs and Department of the Environment and Energy.
