Enhanced Income Management

Program overview

Enhanced Income Management is operating in the Northern Territory and Cape York and Doomadgee region, as well as volunteers from the Ceduna, East Kimberley, Goldfields, Bundaberg and Hervey Bay regions. Participants use a SmartCard to access their enhanced Income Management account.

Participants can get a SmartCard at select Services Australia service centres or participating Agents.

Participants can get a Traditional Credit Union (TCU) SmartCard by visiting a TCU branch or contact TCU for help.

Participants can keep using their existing card until they get a SmartCard.

On enhanced Income Management, participants cannot do the following:

  • buy tobacco or tobacco products
  • buy pornography
  • buy alcohol or homebrew kits
  • gamble
  • buy gift cards and cash-like products
  • get cash out.
