Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse - Support Service Organisations

The Australian Government initially committed funding for organisations to provide community-based support services for people who participate in the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. In September 2014 the Government announced its decision to extend the Royal Commission for a further two years. The Government will provide an additional funding of up to $125 million as part of the extension for the Commission and associated costs.  The Royal Commission will deliver its final report by 15 December 2017.

These organisations were set up to deliver free services such as counselling, support and case management to individuals and their family members before, during and after their interaction with the Royal Commission. The services complement existing supports provided by the Royal Commission and the Attorney-General’s Department.
