National Awards for Local Government

The National Awards for Local Government are a celebration of Australian local government achievements and highlight the innovative and resourceful solutions that local governments have implemented to make a difference within their communities. The Awards are administered by the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development with the support of sponsors.

The Disability Access and Inclusion Award, sponsored by the Department of Social Services, recognises local governments that have applied the principles of the National Disability Strategy—by engaging with people with disability, their families and carers—to develop and implement innovative services, practices and/or policies that provide greater opportunities for people with disability to participate in local community life.

Visit the National Awards website to see the awards winners and their projects.
