Wage Supplementation for Australian Disability Enterprises
The Australian Government has undertaken to provide tapering wage supplementation for ADEs who transition their supported employees from a non-productivity based wage tool to the Supported Wage System (SWS) under the SES Award or the SWS under another relevant Modern Award.
The Department is rolling out this supplementation to organisations that have transitioned all of their supported employees to the Supported Wage System (SWS) after 29 April 2014.
Australian Disability Enterprises (ADEs) must be able to demonstrate that all of their Supported Employees have completed an SWS assessment, and are being paid according to that assessment.
The amount of wage supplementation will be calculated from the date of full transition (or 1 February 2015 for organisations who transitioned prior to that date). The amount payable will be 100 per cent for the first 12 months, reducing to 75 per cent for the second 12 months, then 50 per cent for the next six months with 25 per cent supplementation payable for the final six months. The final date for wage supplementation payment is 31 December 2020.
